About Us

We are the official Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers chapter of the University of Southern California!
USC SASE’s purpose is to explore science and engineering-related academic and career issues. We also help those interested in the field to get to know one another better outside academic settings. Our purpose must follow the national SASE’s mission, mentioned below.
Our Mission
- Prepare Asian heritage scientists and engineers for success in the global business world
- Celebrate diversity on campuses and in the workplace
- Provide opportunities for members to make contributions to their local community.
Why It Matters
Diverse organizations make informed and inclusive decisions that make our society stronger. Asian Pacific Islanders (API) account for only 2% of executive leadership in the Fortune 500, yet make up 6% of the US population. SASE is working to mentor and empower the next generation of Asian heritage leaders in the workforce.
The national SASE organization was founded in 2007 with support from Procter & Gamble. Today, USC SASE is one of over 100 collegiate chapters in the west, south, midwest, and northeast regions!
